What is LESCO?

LESCO (Lahore Electric Supply Company) is a government-owned DISCO under PEPCO and NEPRA. It was carved out of WAPDA in 1998 as part of Pakistan's power sector restructuring. Lahore alone accounts for roughly 4 million of LESCO's 5.6 million consumer connections — making it one of the biggest urban electricity networks in Pakistan.

The network covers everything in Lahore city: from Gulberg and DHA in the south to Allama Iqbal Town and Johar Town in the east, Model Town in the west, Shalimar in the north, and all points in between. LESCO's helpline is 042-111-000-020. For power faults anywhere in Lahore, call 118 — 24 hours a day.

To check and download your LESCO bill for free, use Lesco Bill Check. The portal pulls data from Pakistan's official PITC gateway — the same source JazzCash, EasyPaisa and HBL Internet Banking use to process payments.

How to check your LESCO bill online

4 steps. Under 2 minutes the first time. Under 30 seconds once you've done it before.

Step 01

Open the LESCO bill check portal

Any browserMobile and desktop

Go to Lesco Bill Check. No account. No app. No login. Works on any phone from any browser.

Why echeckbills.pk loads fasterThe portal uses server-side caching on top of the official PITC gateway. When official LESCO systems slow down during peak bill-checking hours — especially around the 20th–25th of each month when Lahore due dates cluster — echeckbills.pk stays fast.

Works on 3G. Useful for older Lahore localities where 4G hasn't fully penetrated or mobile networks are congested during power outages.

Step 02

Enter your 14-digit LESCO reference number

Only required field

Type your reference number exactly as printed. One wrong digit returns no result — or pulls up the wrong account entirely.

Where to find itTop-right corner of any printed LESCO bill, labeled "Reference No." or "Ref. No. — exactly 14 digits. Also printed above the barcode at the bottom of the bill slip.

Lost your bill? Call LESCO at 042-111-000-020. Give your full Lahore address or meter number — they'll pull the reference number while you're on the call. Do not try to guess the number.

Step 03

Click Check Bill and view the details

Results in under few seconds

Hit the button. Your full LESCO Lahore bill loads — consumer name, address, units consumed, current charges, arrears, due date, and after-due-date amount with the 10% penalty already calculated.

Screenshot the screen immediately. Useful for WhatsApping the amount to a family member near a payment counter anywhere in Lahore. Urban LESCO franchises increasingly accept the screenshot or PDF on a phone screen.

Step 04

Download your free duplicate bill PDF

Free PDF — unlimited copiesAccepted at all payment points

Click "Download Duplicate Bill." A print-ready PDF generates in seconds — completely free.

Printing in LahoreAny photocopy shop in Gulberg, Model Town, DHA, or anywhere in Lahore charges Rs. 5-10 per page. Black-and-white print is accepted at all LESCO franchises, banks, post offices, and NADRA e-Sahulat centers. You can print as many copies as you need — there's no limit on how many times you can generate the duplicate.

The "Duplicate" header on the bill changes nothing at the counter. LESCO franchise staff across Lahore process printed duplicates every single day without question.

What your LESCO bill actually shows

The online LESCO bill shows more than just the total. Here's every field — including the ones that confuse people most.

  • Consumer Name and Address — confirms you pulled the right account. Double-check this if you share a meter — common in Lahore apartments, shops and multi-unit properties.

  • Reference Number — the same 14 digits you searched. Printed again on the PDF for payment counter use and banking app entry.

  • Billing month — which month the bill covers. LESCO reads meters on a rolling weekly cycle. Gulberg and DHA typically get bills in week 1. Raiwind, Sundar and outer Lahore areas can lag to week 3-4.

  • Previous reading / Current reading — actual kWh figures from your meter. Subtract one from the other to verify your own units count. If the gap looks wrong, photograph your meter before calling LESCO.

  • Units consumed — the single number that determines your NEPRA tariff slab. Everything else on the bill flows from this.

  • Current bill amount — base energy charges before taxes. What NEPRA's per-unit slab rates apply to.

  • FAC (Fuel Adjustment Charge) — the charge most people don't plan for. It can add Rs. 500-2,000 to a Lahore bill during months when furnace oil or imported LNG prices spike. NEPRA sets it monthly. Nothing individual notifies you — it just appears on the bill. Track it monthly at our FPA Tracker.

  • NJ Surcharge (Neelum Jhelum Surcharge) — Rs. 0.10–0.35 per unit. Appears on every LESCO bill. Collected to repay construction financing for the Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project. Most consumers see it but don't know what it is.

  • FC Surcharge (Financing Cost Surcharge) — a variable monthly charge covering system financing costs. Appears on every LESCO bill as a line item.

  • Electricity Duty (ED) — a Punjab provincial tax at approximately 1.5% of the total electricity charges. Appears on all LESCO bills. If you've ever wondered "what is electricity duty on my LESCO bill" — that's it.

  • GST at 17% — applied on electricity charges. No residential exemptions.

  • TV License Fee — Rs. 35 per month. Yes, everyone pays it regardless of whether they own a TV. Collected by DISCO on behalf of PTV.

  • Arrears — any unpaid balance from previous months carried forward to this bill.

  • Total payable amount — what you actually owe. Every charge above rolls into this number.

  • Due date — pay by this date to avoid the 10% late surcharge.

  • After-due-date amount — total with 10% late penalty already calculated and printed. LESCO shows you exactly what delay costs before you decide to wait.

What is a LESCO duplicate bill?

A duplicate bill is a reprint of your current LESCO electricity bill. Same reference number. Same billing month. Same amounts. Same due date. LESCO generates it on demand from its database the moment you click Download at Lesco Bill Check.

Every payment counter in Pakistan that accepts LESCO bills accepts a printed duplicate. The word "Duplicate" on the header changes nothing at the counter — it is a fully valid payment instrument.

You can download and print the duplicate as many times as you need. Each print is an identical copy of your current bill — there's no limit on how many times you can generate it. Pay at multiple counters, share with family members, keep one for your records — all fine.

One limit: the online portal shows only your current unpaid bill. For bills from previous months — say, you need a September 2025 LESCO bill for a tenant or tax record — visit your LESCO subdivision office with your reference number. Their internal system holds billing history going back several years, and staff can print old bills on the spot.

Share the PDF via WhatsApp

Downloaded the PDF? WhatsApp it to any family member near a LESCO franchise anywhere in Lahore. Urban franchises in Gulberg, DHA, Model Town and Johar Town increasingly accept the PDF shown on a phone screen. In older localities like Anarkali or Data Darbar area, a printed copy is the safer option — call ahead to confirm.

Pay 2 days before the due date — always

Online payments can take up to 4 hours to process. Paying on the morning of the due date is risky — a system delay or bank maintenance window tips you into the late surcharge window. On a Rs. 6,000 Lahore summer bill that's Rs. 600 wasted for a short delay. JazzCash is free, takes 3 minutes, and works 24/7. Set a phone reminder 2 days before the due date printed on every LESCO bill.

Paying arrears and current bill together

If arrears show on your bill, use the "Total Payable" or "After Due Date" amount, which already includes arrears. Partial payments clear arrears first — the current month's bill stays outstanding until fully paid. Always pay the complete total to avoid a remaining balance on your next bill.

LESCO electricity tariff slabs — August 2026

LESCO uses NEPRA's nationwide residential tariff. The slab system means your per-unit rate increases as monthly consumption crosses each threshold — and the higher rate applies to ALL your units for that month, not just the extra ones above the cutoff. For the official published tariff, visit nepra.org.pk.

Above 700 units

Rs. 25.09

Rs. 500

⚠ These are base energy rates only — your real LESCO bill is higher

Your final bill also adds: FAC (Fuel Adjustment Charge — varies monthly, can add Rs. 500-2,000 in summer) + NJ Surcharge + FC Surcharge + Electricity Duty 1.5% + GST 17% + Rs. 35 TV licence + fixed charges. Use our free bill calculator for a real total estimate including all these charges.

The slab crossover from 200 to 201 units is where most Lahore households get hit hardest. A DHA or Gulberg household running a 1.5-ton AC 8 hours a day burns around 120 units per month on that AC alone. Add fans, lights, and a geyser, and crossing the protected limit is easy in July. Going from 198 to 215 units costs Rs. 900-1,400 more at base tariff before the FAC. Track monthly FAC values at our FPA Tracker.

Common errors and how to fix them

Error: "No record found"

Two causes. A digit error in the reference number, or the current month's bill hasn't been generated yet. LESCO reads meters on a rolling weekly cycle. Gulberg and DHA areas get bills in week 1. Raiwind, Sundar, and outer Lahore areas can lag to week 3-4. Recheck all 14 digits against a previous printed bill. If they're correct, wait 3-5 days and try again.

New connection or newly built property?

New LESCO meter registrations can take 6-8 weeks to appear in the online system — especially in new housing schemes on Lahore's outskirts like Park View City, Lahore Smart City or Capital Smart City. Contact your LESCO subdivision with the meter number to confirm registration status.

I paid, but my bill still shows outstanding

Online payments take 2-4 hours to reflect in LESCO's system. Wait at least 6 hours after paying before rechecking at LESCO Bill Check. If after 24 hours it still shows outstanding, contact your bank with the transaction reference number first. Then call LESCO at 042-111-000-020 with both your reference number and the bank transaction ID.

Bill amount looks wrong

Pay first. Dispute second. Photograph your actual meter, then visit your LESCO subdivision office with the reference number and the photo. You can also file a formal complaint at NEPRA's consumer complaint portal if LESCO doesn't resolve it within 30 days. Withholding payment doesn't stop the late surcharge — it creates two problems instead of one.

8 ways to cut your LESCO bill

  • Set your AC at 26°C — not lower — each degree below 26°C adds roughly 8% to the AC's power draw. Running at 20°C instead of 26°C in a Gulberg July burns 48% more electricity for the same room. 24°C is the practical Lahore compromise — cool enough to sleep, cheap enough to survive the bill.

  • Check your meter on the 15th of every month — photograph the meter mid-billing cycle. If you're at 185 units on July 15 and your billing date is July 31, you know to reduce AC hours. By the time the bill arrives, decisions are 4 weeks old and irreversible.

  • Stay under 200 units where possible — crossing from protected units moves your entire bill to the higher slab. Going from 198 to 215 units in a hot Lahore month costs Rs. 900-1,400 more before the FAC. The boundary is worth watching closely every summer.

  • Replace old ceiling fans with inverter models — a standard fan draws 80W. An inverter fan draws 28-35W. Run 4 fans 14 hours a day and save around 30 units per month. In the 201-300 slab, that's Rs. 420 saved per month, Rs. 5,040 per year for a one-time fan upgrade.

  • Pay 2 days before the due date every month — a 10% late surcharge on a Rs. 6,000-10,000 Lahore summer bill is Rs. 600-1,000 wasted for a short delay. JazzCash is free and takes 3 minutes. The reminder needs to be set before you forget.

  • Use LED bulbs throughout — a 100W incandescent versus a 9W LED running 8 hours daily saves roughly 25 units per month per bulb. Replace 4 bulbs across the house and save 100 units — the gap between the first and second tariff slab for a light-consumption household.

  • Switch from a conventional AC to an inverter AC model — an inverter AC cuts power consumption by 40-60% compared to a conventional AC at the same cooling output. For Lahore summer bills where AC accounts for Rs. 3,000-6,000 per month, this is the single biggest bill reduction available. Payback period on the price difference is typically 2-3 years at current LESCO tariff rates.

  • Apply for LESCO net metering if you own your home — LESCO accepts net metering applications for solar panel installations. A 5kW solar system can cut annual electricity costs by Rs. 60,000-100,000 for heavy consumers by feeding daytime surplus generation back to the grid. Apply through NEPRA's net metering portal — LESCO processes net metering connections in 4-8 weeks for eligible residential consumers.
