Your HESCO bill is online right now. Enter your 14-digit reference number at Hesco Bill Check and the full bill loads in under 5 seconds — units, amount, due date, arrears, and a free duplicate PDF. No login. No queue. No trip to the HESCO office in Hyderabad or Sukkur. This guide covers every field, every charge, how to pay from home, and why interior Sindh summer bills get so high.
HESCO (Hyderabad Electric Supply Company) distributes electricity across interior Sindh. Around 1.8 million consumers in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Nawabshah, Jacobabad and surrounding districts get their monthly bills through HESCO. Every single one is checkable online in seconds at Hesco Bill Check.
HESCO covers interior Sindh — Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, Khairpur and surrounding districts — serving around 1.8 million consumers.
What is HESCO?
HESCO (Hyderabad Electric Supply Company) is a government-owned DISCO under PEPCO and NEPRA. It separated from WAPDA in 1998 as part of Pakistan's nationwide power sector restructuring.
The network covers interior Sindh — roughly the territory between the Karachi division to the south-west and the Punjab border to the north. Hyderabad is HESCO's headquarters and the region's largest city. Sukkur and Larkana are the next biggest load centres by consumer count.
Interior Sindh poses a specific operational challenge: temperatures regularly hit 47-49°C in June and July, which pushes grid demand to extremes. Jacobabad has multiple times recorded Pakistan's highest ever temperature. That heat drives load shedding, billing spikes and network stress simultaneously.
HESCO's helpline is 022-111-000-020 (Mon-Sat, 8am-8pm). For power faults across any interior Sindh district, call 118 — 24 hours. The official portal is hesco.com.pk. To check and download your bill without portal slowdowns, use Hesco Bill Check.
How to check your HESCO bill online — 4 steps
You need one thing: the 14-digit reference number from any printed HESCO bill. That's it.
Step 01
Open the HESCO bill check portal
Any browserMobile and desktopWorks on 2G
Go to Hesco Bill Check. Nothing to install or create. Works on any phone.
Why echeckbills.pk stays fasthesco.com.pk gets heavy concurrent traffic from Hyderabad and Sukkur consumers between 10am and 2pm, especially in the 5 days before due dates. echeckbills.pk uses server-side caching on top of the official PITC gateway and stays fast through that window.
Works fine on 2G. Useful for consumers in Jacobabad, Kashmore and remote interior Sindh areas where 4G coverage is unreliable. The page is deliberately lightweight.
Step 02
Enter your 14-digit HESCO reference number
Only required field
Type your reference number exactly as printed. One wrong digit returns no result — or pulls a completely different account.
Where to find itTop-right corner of any printed HESCO bill, labeled "Reference No." or "Ref. No." — exactly 14 digits, usually starting with 0. Also printed above the barcode at the bottom of the bill slip. Some older HESCO formats call it the Consumer ID.
Lost the bill? Call HESCO at 022-111-000-020. Give your meter number or full address — Hyderabad area, Sukkur district, Mirpurkhas locality — and they'll pull your reference number on the call.
Step 03
Click Check Bill — results in under 5 seconds
Live PITC dataReal-time billing
Your full HESCO bill loads: consumer name, address, units consumed, current charges, arrears, due date and the after-due-date amount with 10% penalty calculated.
Screenshot immediately. WhatsApp it to a family member near a HESCO franchise in Hyderabad, Sukkur or Mirpurkhas. Most urban franchises now accept the PDF on a phone screen. In smaller Sindh towns like Dadu or Thatta, print first — call ahead to confirm.
Step 04
Download your free duplicate bill PDF
Free — unlimited copiesAccepted everywhere in Sindh
Click "Download Duplicate Bill." Print-ready PDF generates in seconds. Zero cost, no limit on copies.
Printing across interior SindhAny photocopy shop in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Larkana or any HESCO district charges Rs. 5-10 per page. Black-and-white print is accepted at all HESCO franchises, banks, post offices and Nadra e-Sahulat centers. The "Duplicate" header changes nothing at the counter.
HESCO franchise clerks across interior Sindh process printed duplicates every single day. It's completely standard — no questions asked.
What your HESCO bill actually shows
The online bill gives you more than just the total. Here's every field — including the ones that confuse Sindh consumers most.
Consumer Name and Address — confirms you pulled the right account. Worth checking first if you manage bills across multiple properties in different interior Sindh districts.
Reference Number (Consumer ID) — your 14-digit account identifier. Stays the same for the lifetime of the connection. Printed again on the downloaded PDF for counter use.
Billing month — which month this bill covers. HESCO reads meters on a rolling schedule — Hyderabad city areas get bills in week 1 or 2. Jacobabad and Kashmore rural areas may not see a new bill until week 4.
Previous and current meter readings — actual kWh figures. Subtract one from the other to verify your unit count. If the jump looks wrong, photograph the meter before calling HESCO.
Units consumed — the single number that determines your NEPRA tariff slab. Everything else flows from this.
Energy charges — base cost before taxes. What NEPRA's per-unit slab rate applies to directly.
FAC (Fuel Adjustment Charge) — changes every month based on Pakistan's fuel mix and LNG import prices. In interior Sindh's extreme summers, FAC can add Rs. 700-2,500 to a bill that looks normal at base tariff. NEPRA announces it monthly but nothing alerts individual consumers — it just appears on the bill. Track current FAC values at our FPA Tracker.
NJ Surcharge (Neelum Jhelum) — Rs. 0.10-0.35 per unit. Collected on every HESCO bill to repay Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project financing. Most Sindh consumers see the line item but don't know what it means.
FC Surcharge (Financing Cost) — a per-unit charge covering power sector debt financing. Appears on every HESCO bill as a separate line item set by NEPRA.
Electricity Duty (Sindh) — a Sindh provincial tax on electricity charges.
GST at 17% — applied across all DISCOs. No residential exemptions.
TV Licence Fee — Rs. 35 per month on every residential bill, regardless of TV ownership.
Arrears — unpaid balance from previous months carried forward.
Total payable amount — what you actually owe. Every charge above rolls into this.
Due date — pay before this date to avoid the 10% late surcharge.
After-due-date amount — total with 10% late penalty calculated and printed. HESCO shows you exactly what delay costs.
The FAC is what catches most Hyderabad and Sukkur consumers off guard. In June and July when interior Sindh hits 47-49°C, the national grid burns expensive imported fuel to keep up with cooling demand. The FAC follows. In peak months it's not unusual for FAC to add more to a HESCO bill than the base energy charge itself. Bookmark our FPA Tracker to see each month's figure before the bill arrives.
What is a HESCO duplicate bill?
A duplicate bill is a reprint of your current HESCO electricity bill. Same reference number, same billing month, same amounts, same due date. HESCO generates it from its database the moment you click download at Hesco Bill Check.
Every bank, HESCO franchise, Nadra e-Sahulat center and post office across interior Sindh that accepts HESCO bills accepts a printed duplicate. The "Duplicate" header changes nothing at the counter.
You can print as many copies as needed — no limit. For previous billing months, visit your HESCO subdivision office with your reference number. Their internal system holds billing history going back several years.
HESCO bijli bill WhatsApp par bhejain
PDF download karne ke baad, apne ghar walon ko WhatsApp karein jo Hyderabad ya Sukkur mein HESCO franchise ke paas hain. Shahar ke bade franchises ab phone screen par PDF bhi accept karte hain. Dadu ya Thatta jaise chhote qasbon mein printed copy le jaana behtar hai — pehle franchise ko call kar ke confirm karein.

Pay 2 days before the due date — every month
Online payments take up to 4 hours. Paying on the due date morning risks a bank maintenance window pushing you into the 10% late surcharge. On a Rs. 5,600 Sindh summer bill that's Rs. 560 wasted. JazzCash is free and takes 3 minutes. Set a phone reminder 2 days before the due date now.
Paying arrears and current bill together
If your bill shows arrears, use the Total Payable or After Due Date amount — both already include arrears. Partial payments clear arrears first. Always pay the full total to avoid a carry-forward on your next HESCO bill.
Districts and areas covered by HESCO
HESCO covers interior Sindh — the territory broadly between the Karachi division and the Punjab border. If your address is in any of these districts, your electricity bill is a HESCO bill.

HESCO electricity tariff slabs 2026
HESCO uses NEPRA's nationwide residential tariff. When you cross a slab boundary, the higher rate applies to ALL your units for that month — not just the extras above the cutoff. For the official published tariff, visit nepra.org.pk. Use our free bill calculator to estimate your full total including FAC, surcharges and GST.

Unprotected | 401 – 500 Units | Rs. 38.95 | Rs. 500 |
Unprotected | Above 500 Units | Rs. 43.00+ | Rs. 675 |
⚠ These are base energy rates only — your real HESCO bill is much higher in summer
Your actual bill adds: FAC (monthly, Rs. 700-2,500 in Sindh summers) + NJ Surcharge + FC Surcharge + Sindh Electricity Duty + GST 17% + Rs. 35 TV licence + fixed charges. Track monthly FAC at our FPA Tracker. Estimate your full bill at our bill calculator.
The slab crossover from 200 to 201 units is brutal in a Hyderabad or Sukkur summer. Going from 198 to 215 units costs Rs. 900-1,500 more at base tariff before the FAC. With coolers and fans running 18-20 hours a day in 47°C interior Sindh heat, those 17 extra units disappear without noticing.
How to file a HESCO billing complaint
Billing errors and meter reading disputes happen across all DISCOs. Here's the step-by-step process for HESCO consumers in Hyderabad, Sukkur and interior Sindh.
⚡ Step-by-step: filing a HESCO billing complaint
Step 1 — Call HESCO first. Dial 022-111-000-020 (Mon-Sat, 8am-8pm). Give your 14-digit reference number and describe the issue — overcharging, meter reading error, wrong consumer category or unexplained surcharge. Note the complaint number they assign you.
Step 2 — Visit your subdivision office. If the call doesn't resolve it, take your meter photo and reference number to your local HESCO subdivision office in Hyderabad, Sukkur or your district. Staff can access billing history and raise a correction.
Step 3 — Escalate to NEPRA. If HESCO doesn't resolve your complaint within 30 days, file formally at NEPRA's consumer complaint portal at nepra.org.pk. NEPRA can compel HESCO to respond and issue corrections.
Always pay first, dispute second. Withholding payment adds the 10% late surcharge to an existing dispute — two problems instead of one. Pay, keep your receipt, then file the dispute.
HESCO load shedding complaints
For extended unscheduled outages anywhere in interior Sindh, call the 24-hour fault line: 118. For scheduled load shedding timetables by district, check the official hesco.com.pk portal — HESCO updates zone-wise schedules there.
Common errors and how to fix them
Error: "No record found"
Two causes. A digit error in the reference number — recheck all 14 digits carefully. Or the current month's bill hasn't been generated yet. HESCO reads meters on a rolling schedule across 19+ districts. Hyderabad city areas get bills in week 1-2. Jacobabad and Kashmore rural areas may not see a new bill until week 4. If the number is correct, wait 5-7 days and try again at Hesco Bill Check.
New meter recently installed?
New HESCO meter registrations can take 6-8 weeks to appear in the online system — especially in newly developed areas of Hyderabad's expanding suburbs or Mirpurkhas housing schemes. Contact your HESCO subdivision with the meter number to confirm registration status.
I paid but my bill still shows outstanding
Online payments take 2-4 hours to reflect. Wait 6 hours then recheck. If still outstanding after 24 hours, contact your bank first with the transaction reference, then call HESCO at 022-111-000-020 with both your 14-digit reference number and the bank transaction ID.
Bill amount looks wrong
Pay first. Dispute second. Photograph your actual meter, then visit your HESCO subdivision with the reference number and the photo. You can escalate to NEPRA's consumer complaint portal if HESCO doesn't resolve within 30 days.
8 ways to lower your HESCO bill
Use a desert cooler instead of AC wherever you can — an evaporative cooler draws 200-350W. A 1.5-ton AC draws 1,200-1,500W. In interior Sindh's dry summer air, a well-maintained cooler drops a room by 8-12°C. Running a cooler in place of the AC for 6 hours per day saves roughly 65 units per month — the difference between the 201-300 slab and staying under 200.
Set your AC thermostat at 26°C when you do use it — each degree below 26°C adds roughly 8% to the AC's power draw. Running at 20°C instead of 26°C in a Hyderabad July burns 48% more electricity. 24°C is the practical minimum that still saves meaningful units.
Photograph your meter on the 1st and 15th — mid-cycle readings tell you your trajectory with 2 weeks left to act. At 180 units on July 15 with a billing date of July 31, you know to reduce AC hours. By the time the bill arrives, those decisions are 4 weeks old.
Stay under 200 units when possible — the slab jump from 200 to 201 units moves all your units to the higher rate. In Sindh's 47°C summer heat with fans and coolers running 20 hours a day, staying at 198 versus 215 units saves Rs. 900-1,500 on that one bill.
Replace ceiling fans with inverter models — standard fans draw 80W. Inverter fans draw 28-35W. Run 4 fans 18 hours a day through Sindh's long summer and save roughly 38 units per month. In the 201-300 slab that's Rs. 532 saved monthly at base tariff for a one-time upgrade.
Switch to an inverter AC — an inverter AC uses 40-60% less power than a conventional unit at the same cooling. For Hyderabad consumers in the 301-700 unit slab, this is the biggest single bill reduction available. At Rs. 20.17/unit, payback on the price difference is typically 2-3 years.
Apply for HESCO net metering — HESCO accepts net metering applications for solar panel installations. Interior Sindh receives some of Pakistan's highest solar irradiance. A 5kW system can reduce annual bills by Rs. 60,000-100,000 for heavy consumers. Apply through NEPRA's net metering portal.
Pay 2 days before the due date — every month — a 10% late surcharge on a Rs. 5,600-9,000 Sindh summer bill is Rs. 560-900 wasted for a short delay. JazzCash is free and takes 3 minutes. Set the reminder now.

FAC (Fuel Adjustment Charge) — also called FPA or FCA on other DISCO bills — is a monthly variable charge set by NEPRA based on actual grid fuel costs. In interior Sindh's extreme summers (Jacobabad, Hyderabad, Sukkur) it can add Rs. 700-2,500 to your bill when the national grid burns expensive imported LNG. Track monthly values at our FPA Tracker.
Does HESCO cover Karachi?
No. Karachi is served by K-Electric — a private company with its own billing system separate from PITC. echeckbills.pk does not cover K-Electric. Karachi consumers should visit ke.com.pk. Rural lower Sindh (Thatta, Badin, Dadu, Sujawal) falls under SEPCO — check at echeckbills.pk/sepco-bill-check.
How do I file a HESCO billing complaint?
